Change Through Exchange: Training Young Change Makers Through European-African Exchange


Farafina Institute, with its partners, is running yet another exciting project on youth. The project creates an exchange between young people from Africa and young people with African backgrounds from Europe and encourages them to jointly become active for Social Development Goal 10 - the reduction of inequalities. The core activity to bring young people together for joint action is an exchange and learning visit in Germany in June 2018.

Farafina Institute signs a MoU with Institute on Migration Policy

Farafina Institute has established a long-term collaboration with Institute on Migration Policy (RUSMPI-Institute). A memorandum of understanding has been signed by FI Executive Director Dr. Kocra L. Assoua and Dr. Olga R. Gulina in September 2015. The Collaboration under this MoU is to cooperate in a broad range of areas, including research, advocacy and consultancy for mutual benefit.

Claudia Koehler has joined recently Farafina Institute


Claudia Koehler (M.A.)

Claudia Koehler is Farafina Institute's new Director of Project acquisition, fundraising, and development. She studied Sociology (Diploma) with the main emphasis on sociology of migration and inter-ethnic relations, demography, early childhood and family education, and sociology of the life-course at the Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg where she was awarded her Diploma (M.A.) in 2008.
Prior to that, she attained a professional degree as "Foreign language correspondent" at Euro Sprachschule, Bamberg. In 2000 she started working at the european forum for migration studies (efms), Institute at the University of Bamberg, where she has been in the position of a researcher since 2008.
At the efms she has conducted several quantitative and qualitative research projects and evaluation studies in the fields of social cohesion, with particular reference to migrants and ethnical and religiously diverse societies, network relations, education and integration policies and policy implementation.
She is a Steering Committee Member of the SIRIUS Network (European Policy Network on the education of children and youth people with a migrant background) and co-director of the Zimbabwe based NGO Nhindiwa OVCs e.V.
