He studied Sociology at the University of Ghana, Legon and also acquired certificates from Management Sciences for Health (USA) and in Population Research at the Institute of Population Studies, University of Exeter (UK).

He has worked in various research, teaching and management posts in the field of operations research and management of community health programmes especially in the area of sexual and reproductive health.

He has since 2003 worked at the Medical School of the University for Development Studies in Ghana (Community Medicine). Prior to becoming a Lecturer, he worked for many years (1990-2003) in the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (Affiliate of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) where he occupied various management positions respectively: The manager of the nation-wide Research and Evaluation programme; Family Life Education programme (UNICEF funded); Community-Based Sexual/Reproductive Health Programme (USAID funded); Sexual Health Project with Faith-based Organizations in Ghana (UNFPA funded) and the pioneer Zonal Manager for Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (responsible for the three northern Regions of Ghana).

His research interests include human sexuality and reproductive health,rural development,Project Design and Development, Project Monitoring and Evaluation.He is currently a final year doctoral student at Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies, University of Bayreuth, Germany.
